It has been about a hundred years, the wood condition is kept in a good standard. This bed is beautifully carved and inlay with Chinese opera pattern all around the bed. Its supporting legs are Foo Dog head carving curved. Canopy is created when four posts extend above the bed frame and are joined by stretchers along the top to create a wooden frame from which gauze or brocade curtains are hung. At night, the hanging curtains created a cocoon of privacy – the ultimate love nest. By day, they were pulled back and tied with silken cords to hooks attached to the posts, creating a silken silhouette for repose. It also can be used as meditation.
